Tuesday

This morning we visited the orphanage for a second time. At first we weren’t sure how to keep all of the girls busy since we were all exhausted, but then Paige got out colored string and offered to let the girls make bracelets.  We then found out that the girls were already experts at making them. While the lady’s were preoccupied with the lovely crafts, the guys were playing soccer with some of the others. By the end of our short visit, all of the string was used and every wrist had a new bracelet. It was so touching to see the girls make bracelets and then give them to team members. In the later part of the day we headed to the beach, and although it was a bit of a drive, it was well worth it. The water was a perfect temperature and clear blue. We also got to experience the persistence of the vendors, and most of us walked away with some awesome mementos. At night we had our final debrief and shared a lot of advice with one another in preparation for the adjustments we are going to face at home. It will most likely be a teary eyed goodbye tomorrow morning, but we couldn’t have asked for a better week or a more incredible team. God has used each of us in different ways and has truly touched everyone involved.
