Monday is another sunny HOT day in Haiti and we planted a
small garden in the morning. It was
great to see the team working together with picks, shovels and rakes. This did not start out looking anything like
a garden plot except that is was mostly free of trees. The soil needed to be dug up, turned over,
rocks picked out and then smoothed into a nice bit of earth. Many hands do make
light work and the Haitians helped as well. Beans were planted as well as peas,
zucchini and some flowers.
The afternoon was spent with “Rony’s children” (orphans that he helps support and
care for). We did a short lesson on
Moses and also one on faith. Both groups had prepared lessons and the
combination was very smooth. It is such
a blessing to hear the singing and watch the smiles on all the faces. God has
made this ministry so much fun.
I have been very impressed with our team. We did not come as one, but were a team of
eight and three. You would not be able
to tell that when we do our ministry work.
God has done a great work for us here in giving us unity. Hearts for Haiti has been a great help as
well. We are nearly at the end of our
time and it has gone fast. God bless you
all for your prayers. We know that you
are with us.
