Photos- Day 1

Sorry we did not post the blogs last night. Internet here can be sketchy at best and we spent almost an hour trying to get signal last night to post the blogs that were written. We will try again daily so keep looking!

Here are some photos from the first day!

Pastor Tim ( and coordinator, Johny) bringing the message. It was very culturally relevant and well received.

The team after about 4 hours of service. They all stuck with it and seemed to enjoy the experience.

Preparation for leading the object lesson each day. (5 translators and 5 days/teams to teach)

Practicing the songs for VBS

Stephana and Aline (James' wife) joined in and learned some songs too.

Keep the prayers and blog comments coming! Everyone loves to hear from you too. Thanks for joining us on this trip as well.

  3. Praying for you guys every second of every day! I can't tell you how unbelievably blessed the community, church and ESPECIALLY the children will be by your service this week! I know God has been working on each and every one of your hearts in preparation for this time. Try not to be distracted by all the enemy puts in your path- even if it comes in the form of heat, exhaustion, and sickness! You are doing an amazing work and I wish I was there to experience it with you!! This verse was on the wall at our old house, and if you've never seen it, heard it, or thought about it in relation to what you're doing, I encourage you to meditate on it this week:

1 Thessalonians 2:8: Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.

Please be SO intentional about not only sharing the gospel with everyone you meet this week but share your testimony! Share your heart and your life! And open your heart to invite others to share their lives and hearts with you! I know you're lives will be forever changed!!

To my fearless leader and forever boss- REST. Tim and Jen, MAKE HER DO THIS! I have been praying for you every day of this summer and it's just not the same waking up to you doing receipts in your bed! NEVER doubt how many lives you are impacting both island and stateside. God has used you as his hands and feet in both countries over the past 7 years, and I have been so blessed to learn from you and love on you!

To Gady, James, Stephana, Jerry, David, and Magdiel: I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!! You are such a blessing to this ministry, this team, and over and over again, you have been a tremendous blessing to me!! I wish I was laughing on the porch, playing UNO with you all right now!! I love you guys so much!!

Can't wait to read more posts and live vicariously through each and every one of you!

PS: SOMEONE HUG BERLANDO FOR ME!

  4. Loved seeing all of your smiles on the pictures! I woke this morning and remembered that Ethan and Ken were the first teachers, correct? Was praying for you two today, anyway! :-)

Dave, when I read your comment of the smells, I instantly remembered driving past a fish market my first day in Haiti. Noel, I enjoyed reading your blog and how you see God changing hearts already!

Yesterday, as we worshipped at CCC, I thought to myself "even though we are far apart, we all are worshipping One God, together (we sang a newer song with Johnny but we didn't beat you with the time length ;-).

My devos yesterday..... From Jesus Calling... "I am the light of the world...I desire each of My followers to be a Light-bearer." Praying for all of you as you are His "Light-bearers" in Haiti!

Keep blogging, we love that connection!

  5. Great pics. Thanks for all the updates. Long live AIR PANTS!
You all are in our prayers this week. Last year we had approximately 130 kids. You're doubling that number. Amazing. I can't fathom a "small" group. May God Bless you. Someone please give a big hug to David from me. I was saddened to hear about his son and wanted nothing more than to give him a hug.

The fish smell does not compare to the amazing smells that come out of that kitchen! I could go for some fried plantains.

Ethan -keep smiling, that pic was awesome.

    God Bless.

    Jeremy
