Update

Yesterday was quite an exciting day with the finals of soccer and then the medical crew going to a clinic at Dr. Carl's house.  It was awesome and we were able to bless many and be a blessing as well.  Auston posted photos so I won't do them too since we just lost power (but we DID get the line to the house fixed and had power all through the night which makes for great sleeping cause you can use the fans).  We also had two large water tanks delivered by the owner to keep filled downstairs in case we get into the same situation we did with losing it.

Love to all back home and thanks for the prayers.  Lane's foot is feeling better but still VERY swollen, painful and a beautiful shade of purple around the toes and in other various locations.  I still think it is broken but we are just trying to keep it immobilized, elevated, warm soaks, etc....

Today we will have our own church service and communion- led by some of the team (since we have experienced Haitian church twice) and then we will work with the English students/teach health ed - both at the training & discipleship center Hearts United is starting this month.  Then, in the evening we are showing the movie Courageous in French and someone is sharing about what it means to have a Godly father.  We are praying to impact some of the fathers here to "step up" and to be more involved with their families.  We are not trying to change culture or make people into Americans, but to follow a Biblical example of fatherhood and God's example of marriage/family.

Tomorrow morning the Malone University students will leave.  How different it will feel because the WHOLE GROUP is like one unit.  We have all become very close and are having a great time sharing about God and growing in our relationships with Him.  -Crystal

  1. Good morning and Happy Sunday! Northern Ohio is in a Winter Strom Warning, snow expected this Sunday and into tonight, some areas 5 to 9 inches. Midwest and northern plain states ...a wind chill WARNING-- and for so many, the wording used in that warning is "LlFE THREATENING COLD!" Wind Chill readings, 20 to as low as 40 degrees below zero at times especially Monday through Wednesday morning. 25 states are affected today, Midwest heavy snow, brutual cold and PA and Ohio less snow but wind chill widespread, bitterly cold. So please be in for a shock back home when the girls return Monday evening...going form 95-98 degrees to below zero temperatures. We have a beautiful pink sky here today in Minerva, Ohio. We continue to pray for you...hoping Lane's foot heals and you get power restored. Please pray for us back home that our power stays on with these brutual wind chills...could be scary for the elderly if their furnances break down. Some schools have cancelled classes for Monday/Tuesday already, they don't want the kids outside in these temperatures. Other than that, all is well here at home. If we don't hear from you again...we pray for a safe return to the airports and home for the girls, Malone University students. Thank you in advance for taking great care of our children and we will continue to post and stay connected with you. Until next time, xoxoxo Love, Kim, Gary and Brandon

  2. We have enjoyed reading everyone's updates and seeing all of the pictures on this blog. I asked for a 4 hour notification from American Airlines if the Malone students flight 1665 will be on time. I imagine you will check before leaving for the airport, but if I hear anything has changed, I could try to email you too. If you run into delays for flight 3542, due to weather, please let me know if I can help since I do not have a way to contact you. We will continue to pray for the entire team and for Gwen, Jacqlyn and Brittney as you travel home. With Love, Gary & Victoria
